POTSDAM--Gertrude I. LaBaff, 72, of 6975 Route 56, died Thursday evening in Fletcher Allen Health Care, Burlington, Bt.
Mrs. LaBaff was a homemaker.
Born March 10, 1932, in Potsdam, daughter of Joseph and Gertrude Saber Adams, she graduated from Potsdam High School in 1951.
She married Ernest J. LaBaff on Feb. 7, 1953, at St. Andrews Church, Norwood, with the Rev. Francis McGuire officiating.
She was a member of St. Andrews Church and enjoyed playing Scrabble, going to garage sales and doing crossword puzzles.
Surviving besides her husband are four sons and two daughters-in-law, Wayne and Sue, Buckton, Allen, Massena, Mark and Judy, Brasher Falls, and David, and his companion, Patty Ashlaw, Hewittville; two daughters, Nancy LaBaff, Canton, and Robin LaBaff, Massena; two brothers and their wives, Bernard and Gertrude Adams, Potsdam, and George and Jerry Adams, Massena; a sister and her husband, Anna and Sidney Conklin, Springfield, Mass., and nine grandchildren.
Three brothers, Joseph, Ronald and James Adams, and two sisters, Dorothy Pittel and Catherine Saber, died before her.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Andrews Church with Monsignor Harry K. Snow, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in St. Marys Cemetery, Potsdam.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Buck Funeral Home, Norwood.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Fund.
