Alcoa Smelter

POTSDAM--Wilfred J. LaCoss, 78, Potsdam, died Thursday at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.

 Mr. LaCoss was a smelting worker at the Aluminum Co. of America, Massena, for many years.

 Born April 10, 1922, in Piercefield, son of William and Eva Gonyea LaCoss, he attended Norwood High School and served in the Eighth Army Air Forces during World War II in England.

 He married Geneva Wendt on March 4, 1946, at St. Mary's Church with the Rev. John M. Waterhouse officiating.

 Mr. LaCoss was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.

 Surviving besides his wife are a son, Robert J., town of Potsdam; a sister, Alice Jarrell, Norwood; and a grandson.

 A brother, Henry LaCoss, and three sisters, Florence LaCoss, Marion VanGordon and Evelyn LaCoss, died before him

 The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. John Kennehan, pastor of St. Mary's Church, officiating. Spring burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Canton.

 Friends and family may call this afternoon and evening at the funeral home.

 Donations may be made to the Nurses' Fund at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
