NORWOOD--The funeral for Robert A. LaRose, 71, Norwood, will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Garner Funeral Home, Potsdam, with the Rev. Garry B. Giroux officiating. Burial will be in the spring.
Mr. LaRose died Sunday in Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam, where he had been admitted Saturday.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home
Mr. LaRose worked on the St. Lawrence Seaway project, then as a union carpenter on area construction projects until retiring in 1992.
He was a member of Norwood American Legion and Potsdam Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Born Oct. 26. 1932, in Potsdam, son of Edgar and Antoinette Dame LaRose, he attended Potsdam High School. He served in the Navy aboard the Oriskany Carrier during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged.
Mr. LaRose married Sally A. Kirkey on July 3, 1982, at Norwood United Methodist Church.
Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Barbara Sexton, Pascagula, Miss.; a stepdaughter, Connie Curtis, Massena; a stepson, Daniel Jacob, Massena; a brother and his wife, Richard and Anna, Baldwinsville, seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Donations may be made to Potsdam Rescue Squad or the American Cancer Society.
