Theodore J. Malek

State Trooper, Magistrate

POTSDAM--Theodore John Malek, 77, Otis, Ore., formerly of Potsdam, died Thursday at his home.

 Mr. Malek was a state trooper and a state magistrate from 1976 to 1991, retiring to Oregon in 1992.

 Born April 12, 1925, in Albany, son of Michael and Catherine Malek, he was a decorated Navy veteran.

 He married Norma Wing. The marriage ended in divorce.

 Mr. Malek also was an accomplished artist and antiques dealer.

 Surviving are two daughters, Beth Malek, Otis, and Bonnie Malek Keizer, Ore.; a brother, Wally and two sisters, Doris Sherbyk and Kay Fitzpatrick, addresses unknown, two grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

 Two sisters, Mary Nagengast and Eleanor Gibbs, and a brother, Joe Malek, died before him.

 The funeral was Monday at Pacific View Memorial Chapel, Lincoln City, Ore. The body was cremated.
