Fred A. McCullough, well known resident of this place, died about 7 Saturday morning at the Potsdam Hospital. Mr. McCullough had been in a serious condition for about ten days. He had been night clerk in the Norwood Inn at Norwood and was found in his room there unconscious from a shock. He was brought to the hospital here but failed to rally although regaining consciousness.
Mr. McCullough was a native of Dekalb where he was born 58 years ago, the son of Hiram and May B. McCullough. The family resided in Heuvelton for a time where he was in the cattle business. He came here about 17 years ago and had been an automobile salesman here and in Massena for some time, representing the Club Garage. More recently he operated a grocery store in Main street, leaving it to go to Norwood.
He married Mary Joy who survives him. His mother also survives. The funeral services were held in the Methodist church at 2 Monday and the body was placed in the vault at Bayside.
Mr. McCullough was a man of engaging personality and had a host of friends in town.
