SEBRING, FLA.--Word has been received of the death of Paul D. McQuown, 84, of Sebring, Fla., and formerly of Norwood.
Mr. McQuown died on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 25, 2004) in Sebring.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline; a son, Duane E. McQuown of Sebring; and daughters, Beverly J. Dalton of Avon Park, Fla., and Roselyn (Ro) Vaccaro of Pacific Grove, Calif.
Mr. McQuown was born April 23, 1919 in Norfolk.
He married Pauline Akey of Potsdam in 1940, and after serving in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, moved his family to Norwood.
He was employed at Alcoa in Massena for over 35 years. Upon his retirement, he and his wife moved to Florida and traveled extensively around the U.S. and Canada. Mr. McQuown enjoyed the outdoors, boating, camping and nature.
After his retirement, he also took art classes and became an accomplished oil painter. He was a member of St. Agnes Episcopal Church in Sebring.
