Paul E. Mittelstaedt, Sr.

Arrangements for Paul E. Mittelstaedt, Sr., 70, of Norwood and Fort Myers, Fla., are with the National Cremation Society, Fort Myers, Fla.

 Mr. Mittelstaedt died suddenly Saturday (Dec. 13, 1997).

 He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lois; a son, Paul E. Mittelstaedt Jr., and wife Elizabeth of Tacoma, Wash.; two daughters, Lee Mittelstaedt of Norfolk, and Laurie Maki and husband Alf of Potsdam; four granddaughters, Dana, Kirstin, Katelin and Samantha Maki; a brother, John Mittelstaedt of Parishville; and several nieces and nephews.

 He was predeceased by a sister, Betty Hammond of Colton and a brother, Phillip Mittelstaedt of Potsdam.

 Mr. Mittelstaedt was born Dec. 6, 1927, in Syracuse, the son of John and Eva Mittelstaedt. He was a 1946 graduate of Colton-Pierrepont High School.

 He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and in Korea.

 He was employed by General Electric Company, Schenectady, and he retired in 1989 after 30 years of service with Reynolds Metals Co., Massena.
