Theodora J. "Teddy" Molnar

FUNERAL IS SATURDAY FOR THEODORA MOLNAR, 68

The funeral for Theodora J. "Teddy" Molnar, 66, Hodskin Street, summer resident of Morristown, former co-owner of the Peggs-Molnar Insurance Agency, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Lawrence Funeral Home, with the Rev. David VanEpps and the Rev. George Smith officiating. Burial will be in Campbell Cemetery, Flackville.

Mrs. Molnar died Wednesday afternoon in the University of Vermont Medical Center, Burlington, Vt.

Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, where the Canton Area Zonta Club will meet at 7:30 this evening.

Contributions may be made to the Norwood Congregational Church.

Surviving are a brother, Charles Moore, and a sister, Carolyn Moore, both of Lisbon, and several nieces and nephews.

Born in Lisbon on May 26, 1923, a daughter of Morris H. and Jennie Seymour Moore, she was a graduate of Lisbon High School in 1940 and Wallace Secretarial School, Ogdensburg, in 1941.

Mrs. Molnar worked in the planning department of Alcoa, Massena, from 1941 to 1945, and later at the Norwood Bank.

She founded her own general insurance agency in Norwood in 1952. She was joined by Richard J. Peggs of Canton in 1961. Later that year, they purchased the Pitt-Knowles Agency of Canton, which they eventually renamed to Peggs-Molnar Insurance Agency.

Mrs. Molnar sold her interest in the agency to Mr. Peggs in 1968. She remained employed for the business as an income tax preparer until 1984, when the agency was sold. Mrs. Molnar continued in the income tax preparation business with Brian Staples until her retirement in 1987.

Mrs. Molnar was very active in the Insurance Women's Organization. She was also a charter member and past president of the Canton Area Zonta Club.

A marriage to Michael Molnar ended in divorce.
