POTSDAM--A funeral Mass for Mary "Mare" Morgan, 71, Potsdam, will be said at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Church with the Rev. Garry B. Giroux officiating. Spring burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

 Mrs. Morgan died Monday in Canton-Potsdam Hospital, where she was admitted Sunday.

 Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Garner Funeral Home.

 Mrs. Morgan taught at Potsdam Central School from 1954 until retiring in 1988.

 She enjoyed walking, bowling and watching hockey and basketball games and was a volunteer for the Food Sense program.

 Born Feb. 27, 1931, in Norwood, daughter of Carl and Alice Sellers, she graduated from Potsdam High School in 1949 and from Potsdam State Teachers College in 1953.

 She married Kenneth T. Morgan on Jan. 24, 1953, at St. Andrew’s Church, Norwood.

 Surviving besides her husband are two daughters and their husbands, Lisa and William Powers, Stamford, Conn., and Gayle and Daniel Hayes, Potsdam; a daughter and her companion, Jan Morgan and Kenneth Johnner, Potsdam; two sisters, Ruth Taylor and Marie Bullard, both of Potsdam; a brother, Carl Sellers Jr., Potsdam; five grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

 A brother, Albert "Peanut" Sellers, died before her.

 Donations may be made to Potsdam Volunteer Rescue Squad or to Potsdam Animal Shelter.
