HOMER S. MUNSON, HANNAWA FALLS, IS DEAD
Norwood -- Homer S. Munson, 86, Hannawa Falls, formely of Norwood, retired New York Central Railroad engineer and husband of Ellen Munson, died early Saturday morning at his home, where he'd been in failing health.
There will be no funeral service. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Potsdam.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Buck Funeral Home, Norwood. Donations can be made to the Canton-Potsdam Hospice.
Surviving besides his wife is one son, Lyle, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands; a daughter, Mrs. William (Ellenor) Parks, Fairfax, Va.; and a sister, Miss Doris Munson, Potsdam.
Two sisters, Mrs. Mary Baltiff, Wash., and Mrs. Ida Grandy, Norwood, died previously.
He was born Dec. 13, 1901, in Sparta, Wis., a son of Horace R. and Miretta Irsih Munson.
He married Ellen Parr on Nov. 13, 1926. He was an engineer for the New York Central Railroad until 1968, when he retired after 47 years of service.
Mr. Munson was a member of the Norwood Fire Department and the Norwood Racing Team.
