SLU Snack Bar Attendant

MADRID--Beverly A. Pearson, 66, of 3544 County Route 14, died Friday morning at her home.
Mrs. Pearson was a snack bar attendant employed by St. Lawrence University Dining Services, Canton, for nine years before her retirement.
Born March 12, 1933 in Massena, daughter of Lawrence and Alberta Rowley Rafter, she attended country schools in Massena, Norwood, and Madrid.
She married Glenn A. Pearson on May 14, 1950, in the Canton Methodist parsonage with the Rev. Walter S. Dobbie officiating. The couple lived in Norwood and Russell before settling in Madrid 33 years ago.
Mrs. Pearson was a member of the Madrid Rescue Squad Auxiliary for many years.
Surviving besides her husband are three sons, Gerald S., Hammond, Larry J., Madrid, and Thomas E., Killeen, Texas; two daughters, Peggy S. Oakes and Karen M. Pearson, both of Madrid; two brothers, Robert Rafter, Madrid, and Randy Rafter, Lisbon; a sister, Sandra Rafter, Morley, 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Merlin and Darrell Rafter, and two sisters, Carole Flanders and Beulah Pryce, died before her.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Phillips Memorial Home, Madrid, with the Rev. Eunice Tabor, pastor of the United Church of Madrid, officiating. Burial will be in Madrid Cemtery. Calling hours will be Sunday afternoon and evening at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Madrid Rescue Squad.
