Midwife

PARISHVILLE--Mayfred Reed, 97, formerly of Picketville Road and Baldwin Acres, Norwood, died Sunday at Community Nursing Home, Potsdam, where she had been a resident since June.
Mrs. Reed was employed with Potsdam Hospital and was a midwife.
Born Oct. 4, 1901, in Colton, daughter of Eli and Sophronia Peryer Randall, she attended High Flats High School, Colton, and married Guy E. Reed on Nov. 7, 1919, at St. Patrick's Church, Colton. He died July 24, 1976.
She was a communicant of St. Andrew's Church, Norwood, and St. Michael's Church, and a member of its Altar and Rosary Society. She was a member of Norwood Golden Agers and Sisters of the Precious Blood Auxiliary, Watertown, and a past member of Deer River Grange 702.
Surviving are three sons, Guy E. Jr., Potsdam, and Gerald and William, both of Norwood; four daughters, Marion Newtown, Helena, Helen Butchino, Potsdam, Mrs. Lloyd (Altha) Sawyer, Norwood, and Mrs. Charles (Sally) Kelly, Parishville;a sister, Nina Haggett , Norwood, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A son, Lloyd, as sister, Maude Bump, two half sisters, Lottie Peryer and Nellie Foster, and a half brogher, elmer Randall, died before her.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew's Church, Norwood, with the Paul Worczak officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Seymour Funeral Home, Potsdam.
