Mrs. Catherine Reynolds Dies In Watertown
(died February 26, 1921)
On Saturday night following a stroke of paralysis, suffered a few hours earlier, Mrs. Catherine Reynolds died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Simon Gaffney, at Watertown. Mrs. Reynolds had been in her usual health during the day, but suffered the stroke about 5:30 and failed rapidly until death came. Funeral mass will be said at the Holy Family Church, Watertown, Wednesday morning, the Rev. M. R. Burns, officiating. The body will be placed in the vault at that city. Burial will be made at Riverside Cemetery, Canton, in the Spring.
Mrs. Reynolds, whose maiden name was Catherine OBrien, was the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Dennis OBrien, former residents of Waterman Hill. She was born at Norwood 77 years ago. Following the Civil War she was joined in marriage with the late John Reynolds. Their home was in Canton, farming for many years. During recent years they removed to this village. Later they went to Watertown to live. Mr. Reynolds died June 29, 1919. Mrs. Reynolds has made her home in Canton with her son Emmet, and in Watertown with her daughter. She went to Watertown in the fall to spend the winter.
She leaves the following children: Walter, of New York; Mrs. Simon Gaffney of Watertown; Dennis of Potsdam; Emmet of Canton; Harry of Akron. There are two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Jno. (sic) OBrien of Springfield, Mass.; Miss Josephine OBrien of Potsdam and Michael OBrien, Sr., of Canton. Several grandchildren also remain.
