NORWOOD--Douglas Dean Roden, 65, Frederick, Okla., died Monday at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Roden worked for Lew Walker Mobile Homes, Frederick, and was a custodian of the First Baptist Church, Frederick, for 13 years. Since 1981 he had worked for Gray Gish Funeral Home, Frederick.
Born Sept. 15, 1937, in Norwood, son of Donald and Janette Shanty Roden, he attended local schools and enlisted in the Air Force on Nov. 7, 1957, in Syracuse.
While stationed at Altus (Okla.) Air Force Base, he met Barbara Morrow and they were married July 4, 1959. After their marriage, the couple moved to Oklahoma City, Okla., and in 1971 they moved to Frederick.
Surviving besides his wife are a son and his wife, Paul and Laurie, Frederick; two daughters and their husbands, Brenda and Kelly Reichert; and Denise and Eric Teague, all of Frederick; a sister, Ladonna Kanive, Oklahoma City; six grand-children, a niece, a great-niece and a great-nephew.
A brother, Marvin, and two sisters, Maurine and Daphne, died before him.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at Gray Gish Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Charles Wyatt officiating. Burial will be in Frederick Memorial Cemetery.
