NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA.--Dorothy Keefe Rose, 91, a 12-year resident of Newtown Square, Pa., formerly of the Oneonta area, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002, at White Horse Village, a retirement facility in Edgemont, Pa.
She was born in Norwood, N.Y. on March 24, 1911, to James B. and Iva (Merridew) Keefe.
A graduate of Norwood high school and the Potsdam Crane School of Music, Dorothy was a substitute teacher in various school districts. She worked with the low-vision group at White House Village and also with various church choirs.
She was a member of the Middletown Presbyterian Church in Elwyn, Pa., and former member of the First Methodist Church in Corinth, N.Y.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Janice Rose of New Jersey; sister, Sally Shanfelter of Florida; grandchildren, Julie R. Heck and Jason M. Rose of New Jersey; and four nieces and two nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, and husband of 41 years who died in 1978.
A memorial service will be held at White House Village auditorium in Newtown Square, Pa., on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 1 p.m.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements were handled by the Frank C. Videon Funeral Home, Broomall, Pa.
