NORWOOD--The funeral for Katherine P. Schwarczkopf, 89, of 8068 Route 56, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Visitation, Norfolk, with the Rev. Andrew J. Amyot officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Potsdam.

 Mrs. Schwarczkopf died Thursday morning at Community Nursing Home, Potsdam.

 Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Buck Funeral Home, Norfolk.

 She was chief telephone operator with New York Telephone Co. until her retirement in 1973, after 39 years.

 Born March 24, 1910, in Potsdam, daughter of George and Margaret Mullin Perkins, she married Elek A. Schwarczkopf on Oct. 27, 1952. He died March 9, 1985.

 She was a charter member and past president of the Zonta Club and a member of New York Telephone Pioneers, the Church of the Visitation Altar and Rosary Society and Potsdam Business and Professional Women's Club, where she was named woman of the year in 1970. She was an American Heart Fund volunteer.

 Surviving are three brothers, Laurence Perkins, Clayton, Lloyd Perkins, Canton, and Robert Perkins, Syracuse; four sisters, Mrs. Richard (Marjorie) Beigel, Central Square, Mrs. Floyd (Ruth) Carmichael, Tupper Lake, Mrs Ricarhd (Irene) Murphy, Potsdam, and Lois Perkins, Potsdam, and several nieces and nephews.

 Donations may be made to the Church of the Visitation.
