Mrs. George E. Smith Passes In Canton

 

(December 3, 1862-April 16, 1949)

 

Mrs. George E. Smith, aged 60, died suddenly at her home, 20 West Street, Canton, Saturday evening at about 7:30.

 

Funeral services will be conducted at the home this afternoon at 3 o’clock, the Rev. Walter B. Dobbie, minister of the Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be made in Evergreen Cemetery.

 

She was born in Norwood, Dec. 3, 1882, a daughter of Peter and Elizabeth Oaks Wyne. She married George E. Smith, July 2, 1902. The home has been in Canton and Potsdam during their entire married life.

 

Survivors are the husband and the following children: Raymond and Harold Smith of Canton, Mrs. Elmer (Florence) Monica of Syracuse, Stanley and Glyn Smith of Potsdam, Clifford Smith of Pierrepont, Charles Smith of Canton, Mrs. John (Dorothy) Powers of Pierrepont, several nieces and nephews and 23 grandchildren.
