NORWOOD--Mary A. Stacy, 85, North Fort Meyers, Fla., formerly of Norwood, died Tuesday at her home. Mrs. Stacy was an advanced assignment operator with New York Telephone Co., until her retirement.

Born Feb. 14, 1921, in Chateaugay, daughter of Frederick and Mary Barr Allen, she married Wilfred Stacy on Oct. 12, 1942, in Chateaugay. He died May 26, 1999.

She had been a resident of Florida since moving there with her husband in 1978 and enjoyed traveling, gardening and playing golf. She was a communicant of St. Andrew’s Church, Cape Coral, Fla.

Surviving are a son and his wife, Ronald and Trudy Stacy, West Potsdam; a sister, Katherine Stone, Malone, five grandchildren and a great-grandson.

A daughter, Susan Gonzales, three brothers, Clifford, Fabian and Jack Allen, and three sisters, Blanche Allen, Alice Hoffman and Exilda LePine, died before her. A private funeral will be at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are with Fuller Cape Coral Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Cape Coral, Fla.
