NORWOOD--The funeral for James George Stone, 57, Baldwin Acres, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Seymour Funeral Home, Potsdam, with the Rev. John Kennehan officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Canton.
Mr. Stone died from a heart attack Monday at his home.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
He was employed with the Furniture Barn, North Creek, a lumber finishing company, until his retirement due to disability from injuries received in a fall.
Born Nov. 9, 1944, in Ogdensburg, a son of Dorsey and Edith Greenwood Stone, he attended schools in Potsdam and North Creek. He married Aldora Jean Stevens. She died Oct. 15, 2001.
He was a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge, Potsdam, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are a son, James G., Goldsboro, N.C.; a daughter, Mrs. Walter (Catherine) White, Goldsboro, N.C.; four stepsons, Albert, Carlton, Brian and Alvi Wallace, all of Gouverneur; a stepdaughter, Kimberly Delles, Bombay; a sister, Shirley Cyr, Perlin, S.C, and three grandchildren.
