James A. St. Pierre

Conservation Officer

MASSENA--James A. St. Pierre, 82, Massena, died Saturday at St. Regis Nursing Home.

Mr. St. Pierre was a Navy veteran and was employed by the Aluminum Company of America for 11 years. He was a conservation officer with the sate Department of Environmental Conservation from April 1, 1951, until his retirement in 1991 and was named state wildlife officer of the year in 1984.

Born Sept. 4, 1921, in Norwood, son of Floyd and Emma Werely St. Pierre, he attended schools in Norwood and married Lina Koch McClure on May 16, 1991, in Massena.

He was a life member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 170 and a member of the Norwood American Legion post. He enjoyed trapping and gardening.

Surviving besides his wife are a sister, Mrs. Dick (Jane) Potter, Fulton; two stepsons and their wives, Kern and Sharon McClure, Norwood, and Scott and Lori McClure, Massena; a stepdaughter, Dawn McClure, Norwood, and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be at the convenience of the family.

There will be no public calling hours. Arrangements are with Phillips Memorial Home, Massena. Donations may be made to the American Legion, Norwood.
