NORWOOD--Alexander John Szabo, 86, of 1578 River Road, died Sunday in Massena Memorial Hospital

 Mr. Szabo served witrh the Army during World War II and was a dairy farmer until his retirement.

 Born Feb. 22, 1912, in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of John and Rosella Szabo, he married Sophie Stelmasyzk. She died Jan. 16, 1974.

 He was a member of Norfolk American Legion Post, Massena Amvets Post and several farm organizations.

 Surviving are a son, David, Norwood; two grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.

 Three sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Margaret) Barney, Helen Szabo and Mrs. Leo (Rose) Cavanah, died before him.

 The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Visitation, Norfolk, with the Rev. Andrew Amyot presiding. Burial will be in Visitation Cemetery later this spring.

 Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today at Buck Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to Norfolk American Legion Post.
