Truck Driver
(August 6, 1920-June 30, 2001)
NORWOOD--Nicholas Tarallo, 80, of 137 Regan Road, died at 1:05 p.m. Saturday at his home.
Mr. Tarallo was manager of the warehouse at Hartford (Conn.) Paper Co. and was a truck driver for B Golden & Sons Restaurant Supply, Hartford.
Born Aug. 6, 1920, in Hartford, Conn., son of Angelo and Jennie Messenti Tarallo, he married Geneth Thurston on Fe. 21, 1970, in Hartford.
He was a middleweight boxing champion in 1938, having 176 wins and 12 losses. He was a member of What Cheer Masonic Lodge 689 and enjoyed photography, fishing and deep sea fishing.
Surviving besides his wife are four sons, Frank and Nicholas B., both of Sarasota, Fla., Jon L., Norwood, and Angelo J., Massena; four daughters, Jean Germaine, Bahamas, Jennie Duffany, Bristol, Conn., Jacqueline Gray, Grassy Key, Fla., and Joni Blood, Sebring, Fla.; a brother, Frank, Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Lusia Tarallo Nenser, Hawaii, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Massena Center Cemetery with the Rev. Douglas R. Shear, pastor of Bethel Assembly of God, officiating.
There will be no public calling hours. Arrangements are with Phillips Memorial Home, Massena.
