PARISHVILLE--The funeral for Ilena Marie Thomas, 65, Parishville, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Michael's Church with the Rev. Howard J. Venette officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Thomas died Sunday at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Seymour Funeral Home, Potsdam.
Born June 22, 1935, in Norwood, daughter of Judson and Elizabeth Caringi Wells, she was a graduate of Parishville High School. She married Cloudioussa L. Thomas on Oct. 9, 1953, at the United Methodist Church parsonage, Potsdam.
She was a charter member of Parishville Volunter Fire Department Auxiliary, where she was a chief, and Parishville Volunteer Rescue Squad, where she was a past chief. She also served as a judge with the Northern New York Parade Judges Association, and was a life member of Northern New York Volunteer Firemen's Association, a certified level one emergency medical technician and a former Girl Scout leader.
Surviving besides her husband are four sons and a daughter-in-law, Cloudioussa L. Jr. "Sonny," Evans Mills, Charles and Clayton, both of Parishville, and Calvan and Sheryl, Brasher Falls; a daughter and her husband, Candace and Edmond Boisvenue, Cornwall, Ontario; a brother, Louis Wells, Potsdam, 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
A son, Carl Lyle, died March 11, 1957. A brother, Charles Wells, also died before her.
