NORWOOD--Glenford C. Vorce Jr., 71, Prospect Street, died Monday evening at his home.
Mr. Vorce served in the Army from 1945 to 1947 and was employed in the extrusion press room at Aluminum Company of America, Massena, until his retirement in 1989, after 41 years.
Born Jan. 3, 1928, in Potsdam, a son of Glenford C. and Eva Mae Robinson Vorce, he married Lorraine A. Paquin on April 20, 1957, in Gouverneur. She died Aug. 6, 1987. He married Donna Chappell Kern on Aug. 5, 1989.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Media Temple of Watertown, Alcoa 25-Year Club and Brasher Falls Masonic Lodge.
Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Priscilla Vorce, Norwood; three stepsons, Tracy Kern, Victor, Louis Kern, Jr., Greenwater, Wash., and Brian Kern, Birmingham, Ala.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Michael (Linda) Marriam, Romulus; a brother, William, Gouverneur, and five step-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Linda Harris, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Heuvelton.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Buck Funeral Home.
Donations may be made to the United Methodist Church.
