Maintenance Foreman

NORWOOD--Leland J. Wagstaff, 78, formerly of 91 S. Main St., died Monday morning at United Helpers Canton Nursing Home, where he had been a resident since Wednesday.
Mr. Wagstaff served in the Army during World War II and was a maintenance foreman at Aluminum Company of America, Massena, until his retirement in 1986.
Born July 10, 1923, in Louisville, son of Henry C. and Mabel White Wagstaff, he married Arlene Wright on Dec. 19, 1958. She died Nov. 13, 1998.
He was a member of the Alcoa 25-Year Club and the American Legion.
Surviving are a stepson, Howard Paro Jr., Norfolk; a step-daughter, Mrs. Donald (Deatta) Chapin, Norfolk; five brothers, Harold and William, both of Norfolk, Glendon, Massena, Henry, Jackson, Pa., and Gerald, Bristol, Va.; a sister, Wilma Monica, Kent, Conn.; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Three brothers, Vincent, Kenneth and Robert, died before him.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Buck Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul F. Worczak, pastor of St. Andrews Church, officiating. Burial will be in Visitation Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
