Edward Walsh, 88, formerly of Elm Street, died Monday evening (December 8, 1997) at Highland Nursing Home, Massena, where he had been a resident since October.
Mr. Walsh was a foreman with Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. until his retirement in 1974.
Born Aug. 4, 1909, in Montreal, Quebec, a son of John and Agnes Peets Walsh, he was a graduate of Moira High School and Clarkson College of Technology, Potsdam, and married Dorothy Dixson Oct. 14, 1939.
He was a communicant of St. Andrew's Church and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Potsdam.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, Edward C., Syracuse; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Mary Ellen) Marusa, Canastota, Mrs. Stephen (Joanne) Dodge, Charlotte, N.C., and Mrs. William (Nancy) Kline, Elmira, and six grandchildren.
A brother, John, and a sister, Viola Biche, died before him.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Andrew's Church with the Rev. Paul Worczak presiding. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Potsdam.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Buck Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to Potsdam Volunteer Rescue Squad, Norwood Unit, or a charity of one's choice.
