NORWOOD--The funeral for Esther M. Wilkins, 82, Community Nursing Home, Potsdam, formerly of Ashley Street and Clayton, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Buck Funeral Home with the Rev. Linda Harris officiating. Burial will be in Hale Cemetery, Norfolk.

 Mrs. Wilkins died Tuesday evening at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam.

 Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

 She was a teacher in rural schools.

 Born Oct. 14, 1915 in Clayton, a daughter of Clayton and Alice MacLeod Hicks, she was a graduate of Potsdam High School and Potsdam Normal School. She married George M. Wilkins on June 26, 1948, at the United Methodist Church, Norwood, with the Rev. William Wood officiating. Mr. Wilkins died March 27, 1993.

 She was a member of the United Methodist Church and Norwood Senior Citizens.

 Surviving are a son, David, Norwood; a sister, Pearl Staby, Winthrop, an aunt and several nieces and nephews.

 Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Norwood Unit of Potsdam Volunteer Rescue Squad.
