NORWOOD--Maureen C. Hart, 68, of 836 River Road, died this morning at her home.

Mrs. Hart was a teacher at Syracuse schools and Lisbon Central School District’s elementary school. She was also a reading teacher at the middle school at Potsdam Central.

Born Aug. 22, 1933, in Syracuse, daughter of John and Mary M. Donahue Powell, she married William A. Hart on Aug. 18, 1956.

She was a communicant of St. Andrew’s Church and enjoyed knitting, sewing and cooking.

Surviving besides her husband are two sons and their wives, William J. and Bridget, Summerville, and John P. and Laura, Potsdam; a daughter and her husband, Susan and Sean Hart Smith, Parishville; a sister, Dorothy Ann Grosso, Syracuse, and five grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Andrew’s Church with the Rev. Paul Worczak, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Buck Funeral Home. Donations may be made to Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley or St. Andrew’s Church.
