Retired Church Sexton
(December 5, 1920--July 13, 2002)
OGDENSBURG--Edward M. Althiser, 81, formerly of Van Rensselaer Road, Lisbon, died Saturday at St. Josephs Home.
Mr. Althiser was sexton at St. Johns Episcopal Church from 1958 until retiring.
He was a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church.
Born Dec. 5, 1920, in Plattsburgh, he was the son of Edward and Alice Trombley Althiser.
He married Charlotte L. Dewey on April 5, 1942, at St. Johns Episcopal Church. She died Feb. 4, 1999.
Surviving are three daughters, Ann Agnes, Charleen Alice and Sue Ellen Althiser, all of Lisbon; a sister, Agnes Neri, Plattsburgh, and several nieces and nephews.
A daughter, Elizabeth, died at birth.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Allen-Nichols Funeral Home with the Rev. Geoffrey D. Coupland officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Norwood.
There are no calling hours.
