Hollis H. Bailey

 

(1843-June 7, 1922)

 

Hollis H. Bailey, aged 79, practically a lifelong resident of Norwood, died at the home of his son, William Bailey, at Newcomb, last Wednesday. The funeral was held Friday from the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. M. Rutherford, in Norwood and burial was in Riverside Cemetery.

Mr. Bailey was a veteran of the Civil War and was Justice of the Peace in Norwood several years. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. A. M. Rutherford of Norwood, Laura and Kittie of Portland, Oregon, and by three sons, William and Lee of Newcomb, and Frank of Watertown.

Mr. Bailey, or Judge Bailey as he was familiarly called was well known in Potsdam and was a member of the Town Board for years.
