Norwood--Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 1, at 10 a.m. at the Buck
Funeral Home for Mrs. Franc Barnes, 78, with the Rev. Frank Smith, pastor of First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Barnes died 3:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26,1962, at Potsdam Hospital where she had been a patient for 10 days. She had been in failing health for three months.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Katherine Searles, Norwood; Mrs. Fred (Constance) Lask, Port Chester; Mrs. Patrick (Lois) Woods, Port Chester; Miss Jane E. Barnes, Norwood; three sisters, Mrs. Kate Underwood and Mrs. Jennie Bowhall, both of Norwood; and Mrs. Carrie Dickinson, Omaha, Neb.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Barnes was born in Norfolk Sept. 23, 1884, a daughter of George and Carrie Stearns Clark. She was married to Cornelius C. Barnes Jan. 1,1906. For the past 15 years she had lived in Norwood, where he died in October, 1955.
Mrs. Barnes was a member of the Norwood Methodist Church and of the WSCS; and of Lyra Chapter OES, Norwood.
