Alfred Newell Bombard, 43, of Norwood, died suddenly at his home on Pine street, Norwood, of a heart attack. He had been at work during the day at the Massena aluminum plant where he was employed as a guard. When he arrived home he complained of (not legible) steadily worse until 7 oclock when a doctor and an ambulance were summoned. The physician arrive a few minutes before the ill man expired but was unable to relieve him.
Mr. Bombard was born in Bangor, August 22, 1900, a son of Joseph and Anna Cantwell Bombard. In 1949, he came to Norwood with his parents and resided here until the time of his death.
In 1931 he married Miss Hazel Chase, of North Stockholm and the couple continued to make their home in Norwood. His wife, and three sons survive: Edward 11, Wendell 10 and Arthur 8.
Also surviving are three brothers, Edward, Lewis and Leon, all of Rochester; one sister, Mrs. Arthur (Anna) Jock, of Norwood; and also his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bombard of Norwood.
Funeral services were held on Monday at 2 p.m. with Rev. William C. Wood, pastor of the Norwood church officiating. Burial was in the Riverside cemetery in Norwood.
