Carrie Bowhall

 

(August 1881-March 7, 1968)

 

Norwood--Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Mae Lytle Bowhall, 86, widow of William E. Bowhall, and a lifelong resident of Norwood were held Mar. 9, 1968 at the Buck Funeral Home, Norwood, with Rev. Frank I. Smith, pastor of the First Methodist Church, Norwood officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Norwood, in the Spring.

Mrs. Bowhall had been in failing health for several years and had been a patient at the Potsdam Hospital for some time before entering the Highland Nursing Home, Massena, two months ago and where she died Mar. 7, 1968.

The only survivors are nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Bowhall was born at 1 Morgan St., Norwood in August, 1881, a daughter of Hiram and Betsy Lytle. She was married to William E. Bowhall August 21, 1901 with the Rev. S. S. Cobb, pastor of the Norwood Methodist Church, performing the ceremony at the home of the bride’s parents. The couple lived their entire married life at that address with the exception of a short time when they lived in Massena which was the terminus for Mr. Bowhall’s New York Central Railroad run. Mr. Bowhall died April 10, 1967.

Mrs. Bowhall was a member of the Norwood Methodist Church, a former member of the Philathea Class and a charter member of the Women’s Society of the church. She was a member of the Lyra Chapter O.E.S. and of the Massena Amaranth.
