Floyd Brownell

 

(June 28, 1897-November 26, 1968)

 

NORWOOD--Funeral services for Floyd Brownell, 71, retired Norwood paper mill employee, were held Nov. 29, 1968 at the Buck Funeral Home, Norwood, with Rev. Harry Myers, pastor of the Norwood United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Norwood.

Mr. Brownell died at 8 a.m. Nov. 26 at the Potsdam Hospital where he had been a patient two days. He had been in failing health for several months.

Surviving are three sons, Paul, Norfolk; Reginald, Norwood and Rodney, Hanover Park, Ill.; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and two sisters Mrs. John (Ethel) MacArthur, Norwood and Mrs. Hattie Austin, Watertown. A son Floyd M. (Jim) died in 1965.

Mr. Brownell was born in Norwood June 28, 1897 a son of Osborne and Sarah Casselman Brownell. He was educated in Norwood schools and married Loretta Raymond who died in 1927. He was employed as a beater engineer at the Norfolk Paper Co. until his retirement in 1960.

He was a member of the Norwood United Church of Christ and was a past president of the Papermakers Union.
