W. C. Castro Dies At Sunmount

 

(April 18, 1895-January 10, 1963)

 

NORWOOD--Funeral services for William C. Castro, 67, of the Norwood-Norfolk Road, were held privately Saturday morning at 11 a.m., from the Buck Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter Reed, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery next Spring.

Mr. Castro died Jan. 10, 1963, at Sunmount Veterans Hospital at Tupper Lake. Death was attributed to a heart attack after an illness of about three months.

Mr. Castro was a native of Gilroy, Calif., and was born there April 18, 1895. He was a son of Joseph and Florine Taylor Castro.

A veteran of World War II, he was married to the former Hazel Wilbur of Norwood on Feb. 2, 1944, at St. Phillip’s Episcopal Church with the late Rev. Leon Haley performing the nuptial mass.

Surviving is his wife, Hazel Wilbur Castro, three sisters and two brothers, all in California.
