Frank J. Chase

 

(November 4, 1924-June 30, 1984)

 

OGDENSBURG--Funeral services for Frank M. (Poker Face) Chase, 59, Eel Weir Road, Ogdensburg, will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Fox Funeral Home, Ogdensburg, with the Rev. Bernard Fortune officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Norwood.

Mr. Chase died Saturday (June 30, 1984) at 12:25 p.m. at the A. Barton Hepburn Hospital where he had been a patient since June 5.

Surviving are his wife, Hazel, four sons, Paul, Maryland, Lewis, Sodus Point, Charles, Syracuse and Kevin, El Paso, Texas; four daughters, Miss Crystal Chase, Mrs. Sharon Reese and Mrs. Peter (Marsha) Conover, all of Syracuse, and Mrs. Victor (Barbara) Green, Liverpool; two brothers, Karl of Hermon and Roy of Potsdam; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Thomas of Potsdam; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by a son, Terry who died in 1964, and two brothers, Robert and Ralph.

Mr. Chase was born in Norwood Nov. 4, 1924, son of Roy and Olive Smith Chase. He attended Norwood schools.

He was married to Hazel Forrest on April 21, 1946 in the first Methodist Church, Norwood, with the Rev. William Woods officiating.

He lived in Norwood for five years, then Lisbon before moving to Ogdensburg in 1956.

Mr. Chase worked at Alcoa and farmed in the Lisbon area. He had been disabled for the past 22 years.

He coached for Kiwanis Baseball, Ogdensburg, for 15 years.

Mr. Chase was a member of the American Legion and St. Lawrence REACT.
