Executive Housekeeper

OGDENSBURG--The funeral for Hazel E. Chase, 75, formerly of Lisbon, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Frary Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bernard W. Fortune officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Norwood. Mrs. Chase died Tuesday night in St. Josephs Nursing Home. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Chase was the executive housekeeper at St. Josephs nursing Home for 19 years. She had formed a singing group with other residents of the nursing home and enjoyed doing crafts, collecting baseball caps, hunting and fishing. Born March 23, 1926, in Norwood, daughter of William and Eliza Conley Forrest, she attended school in Norwood. She married Frank J. Chase on April 28, 1946, at the First Methodist Church in Norwood with the Rev. William C. Wood officiating. Mr. Chase died in 1984. Surviving are three sons and a daughter-in-law, Kevin, state of Washington, Lewis, Ogdensburg, and Charles and Patricia, Ogdensburg; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Barbara and Victor Green, Hammond, Sharon and Ronald West, Syracuse, Marsha Conover, Liverpool, and Crystal and Corky Hewitt, Ogdensburg; a sister, Margaret Oakes, Norwood, 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Two sons, Paul and Terry, five brothers, Floyd, Howard, Edward, William and Kenneth Forrest, and three sisters, Dorothy Duprie, Helen Winney and Mildred Lamora, died before her. Donations may be made to St. Josephs Foundation or to a charity of ones choice.
