Leroy A. Dunbar

MASSENA--Funeral services for Leroy A. Dunbar, 68, 37 Bishop Avenue, Massena, were held Sunday, July 9, 1978, at the Donaldson Funeral Home, the Revs. Duane P. Durst, pastor of the Bethel Assembly of God, and Edward M. Miller, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Norwood.

Mr. Dunbar died at 4:05 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 1978, at the Potsdam Hospital where he had been admitted earlier in the day.

He had been in ill health for the past year.

He was born May 27, 1910, in Oswego, the son of Lewis and Ethel Deforest Dunbar. He attended schools in Oswego, and was a graduate of Oswego State Teachers College with a degree in industrial arts.

He married Alice Morgan March 26, 1938, in the Methodist parsonage in Oswego. The Rev. W.O. Thomas officiated.

He taught industrial arts for five years at Norwood High School, leaving in 1937 to work at Alcoa, Massena Operations. He retired from Alcoa in 1965.

He was Director of the Manpower Training School in Potsdam, and taught Indistrial Arts at Potsdam High School for ten years, retiring in April.

He was a member of the Oswego Masonic Lodge, F & AM; he was former commander of the Civil Air Patrol....(remainder of obituary is missing).
