Hospital Employee

MASSENA--The funeral for Lillian V. Empey, 87, of 707 N. Raquette Road, was scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Donaldson Funeral Home with the Rev. Douglas R. Shear officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Norwood. Mrs. Empey died at 6:40 p.m. Friday in Massena Memorial Hospital. A calling hour was scheduled from 1 to 2 p.m. today at the funeral home. She was employed in the housekeeping department at Massena Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 1974, after 13 years. Born Jan. 7, 1913, in East Fairfield, Vt., daughter of Eugene and Lillian Fernette Taylor, she attended school in Vermont and married Hiram McManus. He died in 1950. She later married Edward A. Empey. He died in 1970. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. Surviving are a daughter, June Moxley, San Diego, Calif.; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
