NORWOOD--Laura N. Farnsworth, 72, Elm Street, died Sunday at Fletcher Allen Health Care, Burlington, Vt.

Mrs. Farnsworth was traffic department supervisor with New York Telephone Co., Potsdam, until her retirement in 1981.

Born March 20, 1925, in Potsdam, daughter of Walter and Margaret Brown Narrow, she was a 1944 graduate of Norwood High School. She married Alfred L. Farnsworth Jr. on Nov. 24, 1948, at the United Methodist Church, Potsdam, with the Rev. Wendell Carter officiating. Mr. Farnsworth died Nov. 9, 1969.

She was a member of New York Telephone Pioneers, the United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are a son, Michael, Norwood; a brother, James W. Narrow, LaFargeville, and several nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces and cousins.

A brother, Morris C, "Kelly" Narrow, died July 22, 1988, and a sister, Thelma N. Wilson, died Aug. 11, 1994.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Thursday at Buck Funeral Home with the Rev. Linda Harris officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church.
