POTSDAM--Dorothy A. Fenton, 78, Midtown Apartment, died early Thursday at her home.

Mrs. Fenton was employed at Oval Wood Dish Co., Potsdam, at Nekoosa Edwards Paper Mill, Unionville, for 15 years and at Potsdam State University College until her retirement in 1988.

Born Dec. 16, 1922, in Norwood, daughter of Edward and Agnes Snow Mackey, she attended schools in Norwood and married Thomas Hartman. He died before her. She later married David H. Fenton. He died Dec. 20, 1969.

She enjoyed working with ceramics.

Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Steven Hartman, David and Cathy Fenton and Richard and Deanna Fenton, all of Norwood; a daughter, Sara Fenton Perkins, Hudson; seven brothers, Leo Mackey, Hannawa Falls, Gerald Mackey, Sylvan Beach, Joseph Mackey, Los Angeles, Calif., Raymond Mackey, Indiana, and Phillip, Patrick and Edward Mackey, all of Norwood; two sisters, Rita Jackson, Norwood, and Emma McCorkle, Ontario, Canada, and eight grandchildren.

Two sons died before her, Thomas Edward Harman on Feb. 1, 1965, and Robert "Red Dog" Fenton on Sept. 26, 1990. Three brothers, Leonard, Paul and Bernard Mackey, and a sister, Hilda Van Slyke, also died before her.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Garner Funeral Home with the Rev. John P. Kennehan officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Norwood.

A calling hour will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Donations may be made to Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.
