W. D. Fuller Drops Dead
PRESIDENT OF NORWOOD IS STRICKEN
Had Attended Board Meeting on the Evening of His Death
(1857-December 2, 1927)
William Dinsmore Fuller, 70, president of the village of Norwood and prominent local business man, dropped dead in his bedroom at 10:45 on Friday night, just as he was about to retire.
After returning at 1:30 from a meeting of the village board he went directly to his room. Fifteen minutes later his son, Wendell Fuller, heard a crash and went to the room, finding his father partly on the floor and on the bed, dead. He had a newspaper in his hand and was wearing his glasses. A physician was called, but nothing could be done.
Mr. Fuller was born in Norwood, a son of Wyman and Olive Dinsmore Fuller and had passed all of his life there. He married Miss Abbie Zoller of Hammond about 38 years ago. He was president of the board of education and for the last two terms and had served as president of the village.
For forty years he had conducted a clothing store in Norwood and was always interested in civic and school affairs. His work among the poor and needy of the village had long been known.
The death of his grandson, William Fuller, about two weeks ago, is believed to have brought on the heart attack. A brother, George Fuller, of Rochester, died a year ago.
He is survived by three sons, Wyman of Cleveland, Glendon of New York, and Wendell of Norwood.
The funeral services were held in the Congregational church, Norwood, at 2 Monday, with burial in Riverside cemetery, Rev. Joseph Phillips officiating.
