KENNETH GONYOU

 

ALCOA, RAILROAD EMPLOYEE

 

NORWOOD--Kenneth Gonyou, 86, of 6 Elm St., died Saturday afternoon at his home.

Mr. Gonyou worked at Aluminum Company of America, Massena, for 34 years and also was employed by New York Central Railroad, installing crossing signal lights.

Born Sept. 12, 1911, in Norwood, he was the son of William and Bertha Badger Gonyou.

He married Pearl Deugaw on Dec. 30, 1933, with the Rev. James Duffy officiating.

Mr. Gonyou was a member of Norwood United Methodist Church and an avid gardener.

Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Calvin (Barbara) Kearney, Fillmore, Calif.; a sister, Marion Gonyou, a resident at United Helpers Canton Nursing Home; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A daughter, Catherine; three brothers, Earl, Leon and Floyd; three sisters, Laura Revier, Mabel Raycraft and Lena Cousineau, and a grandson died before him.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Buck Funeral Home, Norwood, with the Rev. Linda Harris officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Calling hours will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
