Wendell E. Goodrich

Mechanic

NORWOOD--Wendell E. Goodrich, 74, of 177 Reynolds Road, died Friday in E.J. Noble Hospital, Gouverneur.

Mr. Goodrich was a mechanic and had worked for H.M. Kinsman Co., Barstow Motors and Norwood Motor Sales until his retirement. He also had worked on construction of the St. Lawrence Seaway in the 1950s.

Born April 13, 1929, in Norfolk, son of Ernest J. and Bernice M. Deleel Goodrich, he married Alice M. Agley on Sept. 2, 1946.

He was a member of the Norwood Fire Department for more than 25 years and was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Bruce, Norwood, and W. Brian, Rochester; six daughters and three sons-in-law, Dianne and Joe Fiacco, Newport, Elaine Ames, Norwood, Wendy and Dale Pryce, Massena, Christine and Rodney Gladle, Concord, N.H., Marsha Goodrich, Perry, and Teri Ames, Canton, and three sisters, Doris Loughren, Cape Coral, Fla., Mrs. Morris (Barbara) Monette, West Chazy, and Mrs. Clifton (Janet) Prue, Newville, Pa., 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Three sisters, Beverly Hoxie, Carol Clark and Muriel Chambers, and a grandson died before him.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Buck Funeral Home, Norwood, with the Rev. Brian Kellington of St. Phillip’s Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Calling hours will be 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Donations may be made to Norwood Volunteer Fire Department.
