Ida Grandy

 

(March 21, 1895--March 19, 1974)

 

Norwood--Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Grandy, 78, of 2 Bicknell St., Norwood, widow of Roy Grandy, were held Thursday, March 21, 1974 at 11 a.m. at the Buck Funeral Home, Norwood with the Rev. Harry Taylor of the United Church of Christ officiating. Spring burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Norwood.

Mrs. Grandy died Tuesday morning, March 19, 1974 at Central St. Lawrence Health Services, Potsdam Unit, where she had been admitted Monday. She had been in failing health for 10 years.

In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations to the Norfolk Rescue Squad.

Mrs. Grandy is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Esther Charlebois, Potsdam; Mrs. Thena Trimboli, Massena, Mrs. Laura Fullerton and Mrs. Mary Emburey, both of Norwood; 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mary Baltuff, Freeland, Wash.; a half-sister, Miss Doris Munson, Potsdam and a half-brother, Homer Munson, Norwood.

She was born in Worcester, Mass., March 21, 1895, daughter of Horace and Sarah Grandy Munson. She married Roy C. Grandy in November, 1923. He died in December 1963.

She worked in the Potsdam Nursing Home and for years in the cafeteria at Norwood-Norfolk Central School.

She was a member of the Women's Fellowship of the United Church of Christ.
