Technical clerk, typist

POTSDAM--Elaine Phyllis Grant, 80, died Wednesday at the home of a daughter, Bonnie Corse, in the town of Potsdam.
Mrs. Grant worked as a technical clerk and typist for Schoeller Technical Papers Co., Pulaski, until retiring in 1982.
Born March 12, 1924, in Bangor, daughter of Ralph and Hattie Blanchard Plumb, she graduated from Potsdam High School. She married William A. Grant on Feb. 7, 1941 in Lafargeville Methodist parsonage with the Rev. Paul Roy officiating. Mr. Grant was an orthopedic technician with Amsterdam Brothers, Syracuse, for many years and had been employed by Nolan Manufacturing, Pulaski, until retirement.
The couple lived at Sandy Creek from 1947 until moving to Saranac Lake in spring 1996. Mrs. Grant moved to Potsdam from Saranac Lake in 1999. Surviving besides Ms. Corse are another daughter, Joanne Curran, East Syracuse; a son William A. Jr., Thousand Oakes, Calif.; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A brother, Robert T. Plumb died before her.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Riverside Cemetery, Norwood, with the Rev. Mary Guy, pastor of Potsdam United Methodist Church, officiating. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with Seymour Funeral Home.
