MASSENA--The funeral for Vera M. Hathawy, 98, St. Regis Nursing Home, formerly of Maple Street Road, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Donaldson Funeral Home with the Rev. Beth Benham officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Norwood. Mrs. Hathaway died at 10:10 p.m. Monday in Massena Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient since Jan. 31. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. She was a secretary for H.M. Kinsman Co., Norwood, and a homemaker. Born Jan. 29, 1902, in Louisville, daughter of Ivan and Florence Dewey Munson, she was a graduate of Massena High School. She married Vernon J. Hathaway on June 25, 1928, in Redwood, with the Rev. Ernest Bragg officiating. Mr. Hathaway died June 26, 1963. She was a member of Cretona Chapter 513, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Grandmothers Club and enjoyed sewing and gardening. Surviving are two daughters, Connie Dygert, Russell, and Karen H. O'Neill, Massena; a sister, Mary Whitton, Massena; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 189 Main St., Massena, N.Y. 13662.
