Norwood Woman Dies In Syracuse

Mrs. Della MacMillan, 75, formerly of Norwood, died Monday night, June 12, 1961, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Shields, 206 Beard St., Syracuse.

The body remained at the Donaldson Funeral Home until 2 this afternoon when services were held in the Norwood Methodist Church with the Rev. Frank Smith, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Norwood.

Mrs. MacMillan was born Nov. 8, 1885 in Dickinson Center, the daughter of Andrew and Lucille Jessmer Ploof. She was marrid to Andrew MacMillan and they lived in Norwood. She was a member of the Norwood Rebekah Lodge and was active in the YWCA.

Her husband predeceased her. For the past 10 years she had resided with her daughter in Syracuse.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Shields of Syracuse and Miss Marion MacMillan of Malone; two sons, Donald of East Brunswick, N.J. and Carlton of Oxford, Mass.; four sisters, Mrs. John Emlaw, Nicholville, Mrs. Jay Smith, Old Forge, Mrs. Charles Carroll, Frederick Md., and Mrs. Cordon Niles, Nicholville; four brothers, Mahlon Ploof, Dickinson Center, Douglas Ploof of Winthrop, Arthur Ploof of St. Regis Falls and Benjamin Ploof of Paul Smiths. Also surviving are six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
