NORWOOD--Norma Wing Malek, 72, Salem, Ore., formerly of Norwood, died Friday at her home.

Mrs. Malek was employed in the fingerprint division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation for a time and was a nurse for 38 years.

Born Jan. 3, 1930, in Potsdam, a daughter of Glenford B. and Stella Rutherford Wing, she married Theodore Malek. The marriage ended in divorce.

She was an accomplished artist and avid sportswoman. She moved to Oregon in 1981.

Surviving besides her former husband of Otis, Ore.; are two daughters, Bonnie Malek, Keizer, Ore., and Beth Malek, Otis, and two grandchildren.

Two brothers, Robert K. and Thomas Wing, and a sister, Aletha Barnes, died before her.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Garner Funeral Home, Potsdam, with the Rev. Genevieve Dox officiating. Spring burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
