POTSDAM--Elva M. McDonald, 75, or 3 Debra drive, formerly of Norwood, died Tuesday morning in Canton-Potsdam Hospital, where she had been a patient since Nov. 28. Mrs. McDonald was a homemaker. Born March 9, 1924, in Morley, a daughter of Allen and Fannie Tebo Pratt, she was a graduate of Norwood High School and married Wyman E. McDonald on Nov. 1, 1947, at the United Methodist Church, Norwood, with the Rev. William C. Wood officiating. Mr. McDonald died Oct. 13, 1983. Surviving are two sons, Darrell, Norfolk, and Allen, LaFayette; two daughters and a son-in-law, Debra and Donald Shepard, Norfolk, and Gayle Smith, Norwood; two sisters, Muriel Weaver, Massena, and Laural Morgan, Oregon; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Gerald, Lawrence and Everett Pratt, and a sister, Ruth M. Baxter, died before her. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thurday at Buck Funeral Home, Norwood, with the Rev. Linda Harris officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Norwood. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley or Potsdam Volunteer Rescue Squad.
